I was just offered $20 an hour to start and $25 + overtime pay after a couple weeks of training for a tax season internship. Just wanted to add to this thread even though I asked the question in order to help more people know whats outs there. The firm is a local cpa firm with 30-35 people...

I don't work at an accounting firm, but at State Street. My internship paid $15 an hour when I started, but lately I'm in the big bux and am now making a scandalous $16 an hour.

I made $25 an hour plus 5K bonus at a top 10 firm in Houston. I also got offered the job after the internship.

The State outfit that I work for pays zip for interns - does not even pay gas money or other expenses. We just got one that I don't even consider an intern any more because he already graduated. Guess some people have a hard time finding a job if they want to work for free for the State (btw, he is not an accounting major).

I am ok with my pay though - pays the same as accounting firms and I am out of there after 8 hours. However, I think after a few years it will start to gap, so time to move on then.
