I am a belt and suspenders type of guy.  I find that losing my pants is very embarrassing!  Therefore, I tend to throw more money at these exams than the average CPA candidate.  I will rate the review courses based upon the review courses that I have bought.  I am currently studying for BEC.  I passed FAR and REG.

BEC #1 Yaeger HOME STUDY, #2 Gleim Test Prep

FAR #1 Yaeger Home Study, #2 Bisk’s Hot Spots (only by Bob Monette), #3 Becker, #4 Gleim Online Review.

There is a major difference between BEC and FAR.  BEC is less than half of the material of FAR and BEC is a lot of memorization (e.g. business structure and IT).  I am putting a very high emphasis on Gleim Test Prep for BEC, especially for business structure and IT. 

FAR is very little memorization.  You have to learn the concepts.  Additionally, FAR just never seems to end.  I did not go to the best college, and I was learning new things everyday.  I had very little time to review.  

I put very little emphasis on Gleim for FAR.  I failed FAR the first time last year just relying on Gleim Online and an old version of Becker.  I made the mistake of trying to teach myself.  I need a better teacher than myself! 

Yaeger and Bob Monette (Bisk Hot Spots) were those teachers that I needed!  If you do nothing else, get those two teachers!  Becker is also good for FAR IF you just need a review course and not a teaching course.  Becker is high speed and low drag!  Yaeger and Bob Monette go into FAR more detail than Becker.  Additionally, Yaeger and Bob Monette slow down their presentations and both review hundreds of multiple choice questions.  That was just what the doctor ordered for me.  I passed FAR in July.
