I've bought Yaeger homestudy for FAR,I finished watching the first DVD,is it a waste of time to do all the MCQs in Wiley book or should I just do the assigned questions
and what about the simulations?

I recently bought the homestudy for FAR. My question is:

What is an effective way to take notes and what should it contain?

What I currently do is make note of any extra explanations that I receive from the lecturer. Other than that I write down the MCQ and Simulation explanations.

Should I go through the text and handout again after watching the DVD and make note of the important points? Is the objective here to have everything in the notes(even info covered in the Wiley)? I am already having trouble going through Wiley without Cindy on DVD :)

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

The Wiley book is very wordy.  The Yaeger team does a good job of summarizing the book.  I do not go through the Wiley text again to take more notes.

I type my notes on a second monitor while the Yaeger team lectures.

Does anyone else who's used Yaeger feel that Michael is perhaps not the best candidate for instructing in a DVD setting?  I understand he's an established, well-respected professor, but it seems like he makes a relatively large number of mistakes when either reading from the text or explaining an answer - and due to it being a DVD lecture, you can't ask a question of him or provide any feedback immediately.  I realize I can (and have) call the instructor hotline, but that's not an option if I'm studying at 11pm.  Disclaimer: I'm only on Mod14 of FAR so far; I havent' viewed Modules 15-20, nor any of the other three sections.

It's just rather frustrating to me that, after paying X hundreds of dollars for this series, and considering the limited time many candidates may have in which to study, I have to go back and doube-check with the Wiley answers when I "know" I'm right and the instructor is wrong, and I find out that I am, indeed, right.

While I have several other comments, I'll leave it at that - just to get some feedback out there.  I've voiced my concerns to Phil, who was very receptive...  I'm just frustrated after Investments didn't sink in too well, so I voice the same concerns here to perhaps "warn" others...and/or to find out if I'm just crazy or too picky.
