Does anyone else who's used Yaeger feel that Michael is perhaps not the best candidate for instructing in a DVD setting?  I understand he's an established, well-respected professor, but it seems like he makes a relatively large number of mistakes when either reading from the text or explaining an answer - and due to it being a DVD lecture, you can't ask a question of him or provide any feedback immediately.  I realize I can (and have) call the instructor hotline, but that's not an option if I'm studying at 11pm.  Disclaimer: I'm only on Mod14 of FAR so far; I havent' viewed Modules 15-20, nor any of the other three sections.

It's just rather frustrating to me that, after paying X hundreds of dollars for this series, and considering the limited time many candidates may have in which to study, I have to go back and doube-check with the Wiley answers when I "know" I'm right and the instructor is wrong, and I find out that I am, indeed, right.

While I have several other comments, I'll leave it at that - just to get some feedback out there.  I've voiced my concerns to Phil, who was very receptive...  I'm just frustrated after Investments didn't sink in too well, so I voice the same concerns here to perhaps "warn" others...and/or to find out if I'm just crazy or too picky.

Not you're not too picky. You're studying hard and know what you're doing. Everybody makes mistakes. We're humans not robots. Still I think Yaeger should have a quality system that would allow them to catch their mistakes and inform their customers. In that regard Becker does a very good job updating and informing about corrections/mistakes, etc.

I completely agree.  I don't think you can find better instructors than Cindy and Phil.  Michael seems to just go through every section and just read the book and then go through almost all of the Multiple Choice.  As if inventories was not bad enough, he was also in Stockholders Equity and Investments, which are two important areas. Cindy's method of going over some important information and then doing some multiple choice and then going over more information is the best method, I believe.  I still, however, feel that Yaeger is an excellent product.

As everyone knows, we keep up with what is going on and what problems students are having.  As for our instructors, each has a different teaching style which works for most candidates.  However, some prefer an individual instructor over another for a particular section.  As each of our instructors are content experts in the sections they are teaching, it is important to understand that each candidate has access to the teacher to ask questions through our Instructor Hotline.  If any of the areas leave you "confused" remember to utilize the hotline so you can contact the instructor and get the one-on-one help needed.

We are here to help and sometimes candidates need more than the lecture alone for certain topics, and that is what we provide...more.

It is impossible for a single individual to be a content expert in every section, and we have put together a team that has assisted tens of thousands of candidates through the CPA Exam since 1977.  And as stated in an earlier post somewhere, if we were not having success with our team we would find another instructor to achieve the success desired.

Again, personal service through the Instructor Hotline, speaking directly with our content experts, will help in getting you through the exam.

As always Good Luck on your Exams!

Team Yaeger

So the majority opinion here is that doing only the Yaeger assigned MCQ (and Sims)is enough? After all, the unassigned MCQs test the material that the DVDs do not cover.
