Moving forward... I've read everything in Becker and have done probably 95% of the MCQs. Do you think redoing all the questions will be sufficient? I feel like overdoing the stuyding is going to waste too much time because most of the questions on the cpa exam are very different and Becker just teaches you the concepts to help you apply them during the exam.
People who pass do the multiple choice questions at least twice. All of them. If you memorized the questions, do the AICPA released tests and study those also. Old timers said when I first started, "do multiple choice questions until your eyes bleed." That stuck with me. Depending on the test, I also read the entire Becker book again on my final review.
85% of these tests are repetitive. You may think those questions won't apply, but they do. There are only so many ways to apply a given concept - numbers/names/dates may be different, but the question format is the same. And I've always had at least 3 multiple choice question from practice show up on my exam.
I do the simulation practice once only. They are never like the exam. But practice sims gives you depth, so don't skip them unless you run out of study time.
I have BEC on Oct 9 and im thinking about retaking AUD in early November and FAR late November or Jan if i don't make it.
A month should do for AUD. People retaking FAR find it hard to bone up again enough to pass it in a month, unless you are not working and can study all day long.
Also my original NTS says the latest day I can take the exam is 12/16/09. Does that mean I can retake my failed sections with the same NTS or do I have to reapply to the board again.
I'm not sure about your question. Your NTS is test specific. You obviously have one that is good for BEC, but nothing else.
Every time you fail a test, you have to start over - get a new NTS to retake the exam, pay the exam fees, the application fees, etc. Your NTS holds the login numbers specifically for that test, and won't work for any other exam. Once you sit for that exam, your login number is voided. You have used your ticket. That's why I don't take a test till I'm ready - every time you fail you pay around 250.00 to retake that test.
