I remember being told when I was an intern in the Big 4 at
a happy hour, "Look around, and tell me how many
overweight/slovenly dressed people you see." (Answer: None)

Definitely not a defining factor, but definitely somewhere
as a component of the "total package" during the interview
process I'd assume. Industry sells products to its
customers. The big 4 sells its people as a part of its
services to its clients, and it seems like appearance to a
client definitely factors into the hiring process.

I can picture that ^ in an LA/Dallas/Charlotte etc. offices, but what about
NYC? Anyone know what the talent looks like at Deloitte especially?

Do the women at different firms have reputations looking or acting a certain
way? For example, PwC are known as not hot, but really pompous. Ernst &
Young have hot and really friendly women etc. Those are made up examples
of course, but I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything along
those lines.

To be honest, if you have to live your life in the office, it would be nice to
have a bunch of attractive women working around you as well.

Many people are like me in my office.
My manager is shorter than me.

and I know some guys who are shorter than me.

I don't agree with discriminating against ugly people.
Because I myself is not pretty at all... and my coworkers are not pretty at all--;;;;; they are just average-;;; I see only one pretty girl in the office. We also have only one good looking guy. 50% of guys are surprising short~ I think it is because we have a lot of asian guys...

Maybe they've worked part-time all throughout college. Maybe they've worked full-time. Maybe they're involved on campus and/or the community. Maybe, just maybe, they're a lot better qualified and well-rounded candidates than those people with the 4.0 GPA!! Ever thought about any of those things? It's unfair to judge beautiful girls getting offers. Because, at the end of the day, there is likely a legit reason they got hired over you. Don't hate on them because they're pretty. Don't judge without knowing all the facts.
