I read about NY changes a few months back when I was contemplating moving to the East Coast. I am sorry to hear that about you.

I am in a similar situation. I graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in accounting and 123 credits. After graduation, I started to work in private accounting. This year, I took the cpa tests and passed them all. I applied in New York state for the test. However, beggining in august of 2009 and unaware to me, they changed the requirement for license to 150 hour rule. So now, unfortunately, I need to obtain not only the working experience for the license but also 30 more credits in college. Does anyone know how long the exam results are good for in NY before they expire?
I don't think you got new law correctly! You need 150hours to qualify for exam but if you registered before Aug 2009 you should be good.

yes, skosyak. I just found out during the weekend that because I registered to take the test before august 2009, I do not need to get the 30 exta credits to conform to the 150 hour rule.I am very happy about this!!!In addition, I read that NYS has changed the definition of public accounting experience to include accounting, taxation, advisory. So now. you can get the qualifying experience by working under a cpa doing taxes or accounting, It does not have to be only auditing experience anymore to qualify.
