Actually having a Criminal Justice degree is really not that bad. State governments don't generally lay off as quickly as private.

Criminals are kind of good for business if you're in that profession. As long as a thug is committing crimes, that probation or corrections officer will still have a job.

You call that a conspiracy ?!
In Australia, Canada and England, you must get a job offer at one of the approved accounting firms by the institute to be able to write the exam.

You need to work 30-36 months in that firm to get the designation
Welcome to the world of being a Chartered Accountant.

They laugh at how easy it is to be a U.S. CPA.

I actually worked with one of the Chartered Accountants, and he showed me the passing rates in U.K. They are much higher than CPA pass rates.

I wouldn't be as quick as to put "easy" and "CPA" in once sentence.

My state is cutting over 700 state workers soon

CPA Exam Fees get paid to the state Accountancy Boards, not the AICPA. What scores did Heisenberg get when he took the exam? If you study enough, you should be able to pass each section in 1 or 2 tries. If you aren't passing it, it isn't because the world is out to get you and there's no AICPA conspiracy. It just means that you didn't study hard enough or you have a learning disability.
