I really haven't figured out what so many of the people on this site have against Gary.  As far as teaching ability, he has always seemed fine to me.

It is true that when going through the audit questions in the text (I've always stopped the video to try to answer before going on, both for this exam and all of the others), I have definitely felt more uncertainty overall about my answers in the Audit section than in the other three, but I think a lot of it has more to do with the Wiley text than to Gary -- either the material needed to answer the question isn't in the text at all (except in the question answer) or it's in only in the audit standard outlines in the back of the book.

I prefer Gary's awkward pauses, coughs, and water drinking to Phil's takebacks/little mistakes.  I wish Phil would utilize as, Cindy would say, "the magic of video" editing.  One or two mistakes, ok fine, but several little mistakes start to add up.  I don't know how many times I've written something down and crossed it out.  It's usually better to wait for Phil to complete a thought and move on to the next topic (to be sure he doesn't change his mind on anything) before I write anything down.

I am almost done with Module 7 of FAR which means I just started the program. I actually have already covered half of FAR through Gleim but I need lectures to clarify much of what I went through already.

Anyway, Cindy is good but her giggling and laughing about nothing is quite distracting to me, I mean absolutely annoying. But again, she's good at explaining concepts and tying them to other concepts.

Phil's voice is like nails on a chalkboard and I don't like how he just does multiple choice questions without really explaining anything.

I am now a bit discouraged in regards to the other two people that lecture in FAR reading what you guys have said. I will see how it goes.

I also agree that Cindy's giggling and laughing can become very distracting. I feel that if she needs to use the lecture time for her "jokes" she can do this in between of explaining a particular multiple choice or a concept, and not during. A friend of mine was visiting me when I was studying. He has passed three CPA exams on his first attempt so far using Becker. After listening to Cindy's lectures he told me that he would not be able to learn anything because of the fact that she laughs and giggles all the time during her lectures.

REG was my first exam and I passed it using Yaeger, but certain modules I had to listen to few times, because some of the multiple choice questions were explained by Phil without explaining the concept.  This is more true for business law part of the REG course.

Many people complain about Gary, but I am actually able to concentrate and study the material when listening to his lectures.

Michail mostly reads from the Wiley text.

Crap.  Looks like REG is gonna be HELL for me.  I hate it when Phil goes over MPCs.  I'm better off reading the Wiley answer explanation then trying to keep up with his yammering (although there isn't much to keep up with because he just tells you what to do as opposed to why you're doing it).  About how much of REG is taught by Phil?  I might just skip the videos for this section...

I agree with Cindy's laughing, it's a bit distracting, but then again its easy enough to ignore.

If you cannot stand him, do not buy their course.  The entire REG module is done by him, except for half of one of the modules on ethics and professional responsibility, which is done by Gary.  Hope this helps.  Cindy or Michael do not teach REG AT ALL.
