I hate these type questions.  It seems like the better you are at bull*removed*ting the better off you are.

I recently bought an interviewing book and it basically says if you do not exaggerate almost to the point of flat out lying, you will not ace an interview.  Sad to hear.

This must be a book everyone could use. What's the title? It's good to know that someone had the brains to give advice that could work instead  of recommending "being yourself". You will rarely succeed in the Big 4 job interview if you "are yourself"

I tried "being myself" during the internship recruiting process last year. I couldn't even get past the first round.

Let's see how far I can get this year.

Yep, I remember at 2nd round interviews at a Big 4 last year, they told us a few times to be ourselves.  And yes, "being myself" got me rejected.  And I had got as far as 2nd round interviews only because a few professors had recommended me highly to the main regional recruiter at the firm.
