You might be able to do your business hours at a community college if they're recognized by the relevant state board. We have that arrangement in Texas.

I just checked the CPA requirements for NJ and they require 24 credits in business. So no matter where I get an MSA, I will never meet the business requirement unless I first get a BS degree since MS programs only include accountign classes.  And besides, I'm in no rush to graduate in this economy with 10% unemployment.  Maybe once I'm in school I will do taxes at H&R Block or book keeping part time.

I'm in NJ. Before I got an MBA in accounting at Rutgers Newark I had no business or accounting credits (I have a BSEE). This program is enough to meet the CPA requirements. I know because I did it. The program starts in May each year and runs 14 month. Here's a link to the program:

I'm not sure about getting in with a 2.9. You could call the head of the program (Sanella) and ask him.

Im in the same situation. If your score over a 650 on the GMAT's they will overlook somewhat your GPA.
