that's a great offer!  Is that the NYC Fed? What degree to you have? Undergrad or Grad?  Is that the same as a researcher would get?

$55k base as a Tax Associate at a Big 4 in the northwest U.S. with undergrad only (top 10 accounting program though, per the Public Accounting Report published in 2008); also interned for the company during the latest busy season.  Yearly fiscal bonus can hit up to $5k based on performance.  Also another $5k for passing the CPA exam within the first year of employment, plus reimbursement for exam fees and direct payment for exam review materials.
