Not all the big 4 is unilaterally laying people off, right?
Those are the ones actually hiring.

I applied through my school's career center. The Big 4 and a lot of the smaller firms recruit heavily from my school. I believe this is the case for most schools actually. From what I've heard, your best bet is actually to go through your school's recruiting center. If Big 4 is on your campus for any events, DON'T MISS IT. It's a lot harder to get your foot into the door once you're out of school. Not impossible, but definitely harder.

Is it a state school? CSU system? If it is CSU, it is interesting to know they hire from CSU system this year. Were you a BAP officer? How many state school students  did you see during your office visit?

Is it true that there is an age limit to get an entry level job at Big 4's?  Seems like they ONLY want recent undergrads in accounting around the age 22, 23 and maybe 24 is pushing it.  Even if you get a masters degree I guess you are too old at 24-25.  What if you pass the CPA and have 4- 5 years experience somewhere else?  If you can be between 25 and 30 years of age, what might qualify you?  I guess they don't want to have slightly older staff that are at the same age as the seniors, etc.

I got a first round interview with a Big 4 on campus for a summer internship.
I'm in a master's program (ivy non-accounting related), and I'm 27. I'll let
you know if I get picked for 2nd round :)

I wouldn't get too excited.  Not to be a downer, but being picked for first round isn't that hard.  Getting picked for second round is slightly more difficult.  I know someone that went through both and then was told there was not enough work for them, despite them wanting to hire them (Deloitte).  Isn't that a bitch?
