I use lacerte personally. If you go to intuit site, you
can
sign up for a free trial cd, its basically the full
software for last year with efile disabled. IT WORKS
WONDERS. All you have to do is input the documents
correctly and it figures everything out. CA taxes are
figured AUTOMATICALLY. The only thing you have to
remember
are the rules for stuff like Dependants, filing status
and
any special tax regulations (ie. what qualifies as a
medical expense on sch A).

If the person is single, no dependants, one w2, one bank
interest then you can file it in less than 5 minutes. The
longest part is inputing the clients information lmao!
