I would only recommend lectures as an introduction to the material. Reading the books is essential, it is not the materials fault. If you truly grasped all of the Schweser materials, then you are guaranteed to pass.

I am considering taking it and went through the same dillema. Based on my research and reviewing both materials (2010 version)...Stalla has more classroom like teaching in lectures, Schwesser's lectures are more to the point. Stalla's notes used to be much more verbose than Schweser's in prior years, now they are both about the same. Both refer to the CFA curriculum, so you will be reading both the curriculum books and the notes that you buy. Ultimately, I think you can succeed with both - there are people who swear by one or the other.
