i think I found it here http://www.aicpa.org/Legislative+Activities+and+State+Licens ing+Issues/Mobility+and+State+Licensing+Issues/Summary+of+St ate+Activity+on+CPA+Mobility.htm
Looks like CA is going to try to add this in 2010,
What if you get the job of your dreams and you can't get it because the CPA doesn't transfer, just a wild scenario.

Lelik, in CA s/he has to be certified by the CA Board or obtain a yearly practice privilege permit regardless of the job title to use the CPA title.
I understand what you mean. However, you can always use the CPA title but specify in which State you are licensed/certified, e.g. Mr. Jones, CPA (SC). You would not be able to perform certain CPA services (such as sign off fin. statements) in a specific State where you are not licensed, but nevertheless you can work as a staff person.
In order to get the CPA title or at least have the ability to take the CPA exam, a lot of people take the CPA exam and become licensed in a State different from their residence, so they would not need to take any additional classes to satisfy a 150 cr/h or/and experience requirements of their State.
