Hi,

I sent my application in the beginning of Oct of 2009 and I only got my application approved by the end of February 2010. I constantly called, pretty much every month and became quite frustrated. Then I left a complaint (sometime around January) and soon after that I started receiving phone calls from the Director. It took a while for the director to finally approve my application, despite the fact that all my education was done in FL institutions.

The only recommendation I have is to escalate to the director, because their inefficiency does not justify why you have to delay your plans for your future, specially if they are overloaded with work. If that is the situation, they must address it and not penalizing the candidate. It is not the candidate's problem.

Best of luck!

That's because there is a record number of people sitting for the CPA exam, over 93,000 last year alone. Possibly even more candidates this year. Unfortunately that's why you read of people who have passed the CPA exam taking unpaid internships or working close to minimum wage at a firm just to get their one years experience. It's a shame that things are that bad, but there is a flood of desperate people that believe that once they pass the CPA exam everything will be OK, but with so many newly minted CPA's it's pushing wages down for the few that are finding opportunities.
