Hi robert- certain states require you to pass an ethics exam which is just an open book test of about 20 multiple choice questions that you can either take online or on paper and mail it in. It's pretty straightforward and most people finish it within a day or even a few hours or less. I would first check to see if your state requires this exam, as not all do. I know there's a thread on this topic on the main forum on this site that you can read through. But like I said - check your state board's website first to see if you have to even take it.

I also have a question regarding ethics exam. I know this is not the right place. But the traffic in the ethics section is limited. While waiting for my reg. result I thought of writing Ethics exam. The strange thing about it that all my three attempts showed 88% (i.e. Fail) even with obvious answer changes. I don't know what is happening. Feeling pretty dejected. I am waiting to call AICPA tomr'w morning.

Any thoughts please!

From what I read on other threads, I think you can call and just ask for another chance to take the exam. I've never heard of someone never being able to pass the exam eventually. So just call and they should be able to help you out. I'm not sure if all exams are the same, but I all I did was just Ctrl F keywords and phrases and find the answers. It's open book so use any resource - Google, your Reg book, etc and just take your time. good luck! you'll get it eventually!

Thank you for the prompt reply. I am trying to get some more chances from AICPA. Let's see how it goes. Thanks for the ctrl F tip too. But, if you don't mind can you please elaborate a little bit. I am having hard time applying it to my Pdf file. I mean my control F search does not yield anything. May be I am using the wrong way.
