Hello,

It sounds like you are very determined and disciplined, so maybe you can try to take 2 in a roll?

I agree that FAR + BEC is a good combination. For me, FAR isn't the most difficult but takes the longest time to study; while BEC is the easiest. So it is a great motivator if you manage to pass these 2.

I also think you should challenge yourself in finishing all within 2010, with the new law and all. I took 4 exams in one go (crazy me!) with a full time job as well. And I am a non-accounting major... you can do it!

Stephanie

I appreciate all the information. Now, I am kinda stuck on materials. I do have Wiley and Gleim Books but those are not the current versions.  One of you mentioned that all the materials are same. Do I need 2010 materials to prepare for the exam or is it okay to have couple of years old version or any preferences on materials?

If it is only a couple of years old I think it is fine. Accounting tends not to change much -- my gut feeling is that it may cost you 1-2 MCQs at the most, not too bad.

In my opinion Wiley and Gleim books tend to overprepare candidates but their practice tests are very comprehensive and highly recommended. As long as you don't find the books overwhelming it's good to stick with what you have; otherwise, you can check out others such as Yaeger. Lambers ipod version is also great for busy candidates.

Good luck!

Really depends, are you working full time? Do you have a family to take care of? Any other obligations?

The only sound advice I can give is take FAR first. You will always over study the first part and it might as well be the perceived hardest part. Plus if you pass it, your 18 month clock starts with the hardest one out of the way, that's a huge load off your shoulders.

Other than that, per testing window, I'd try to schedule 2 for each window. The most popular format is FAR + BEC in your first window and then REG + AUD in the second window. Just be cognizant of your 18 month clock.

can u please clarify the testing window concept and also 18m rule?
