Quant, where are
you getting your MBA?  What was your
undergrad?

My undergrad was in finance. I go to a
business school in the Twin Cities focusing
on accounting and finance so I can be
eligable to sit for the CPA.

Agreed, unless you need the degree to satisfy accounting education requirements to take the CPA exam.  Top (Ivy league quality) MBA programs don't offer nearly enough accounting classes to satisfy CPA requirements if you don't already have an undergraduate degree in accounting.

LOL.  If I had a top-tier MBA, the LAST thing I'd wanna do is waste that education on being an accountant of all things.

It is good to know that many CPA firms I've been in touch with do not
value an MBA. They will not pay you more for having it. It really is
discouraging to be competing with undergrads for a job.

Fortune 500 companies tend to value MBAs.  I know here in NYC lots of employers value MBAs, especially in finance.
