soc- Where did you find that information?

Are there strict percentages on the amount of applicants will pass through the second round?

I read it in Business Week. They compared entry level hiring in several dozen companies in 2009. The total number of new hires for Big 4 was about 15-20% less than in 2008

Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies. Just wanted to post an epilogue:

Wound up getting an offer, I'll post more on the board dedicated to "career success".

So I made it to the second and final round (office visit) with PwC. I've never been this close before with any Big 4 firm. I really hope it goes well.

Congrats! My best advice, after having just gone through it, is not to think of it as an interview. I was given this advice so I would be less nervous, and it helped to an extent.

Also, remember that you won't know who is watching you. Don't give anyone any reason to believe that you not a good team player. Meet new people and enjoy the experience for what it is.

Of course, make sure your suit fits and you can tie a good looking knot in your tie.

Good luck, you'll do great!

Sidenote: Are firms doing a large off-cycle recruitment now? Seems like it.

Well I thought I did well in the interviews and got along well with the associates at lunch but I did not get an offer. I never did or said anything negative. I tried to be as personable as I could be. Either I did something bad that I was completely unaware of or it was really competitive and not many people got offers. This is for the NYC office btw.
