If I were you, I would look instead in states with stronger economies like Texas and Virginia. If you do move to NJ, then at least ensure your within commuting distance of NYC. Don't move to the middle of nowhere.

So I failed to look at the licensing requirments before applying with NJ State - I live in NJ and work in NYC. I was approved to take the CPA under NJ education requirements.

I dont practice public accounting but I want to get CPA under my belt sooner than later. My boss is a CPA but we dont do audit - is it a requirement? Do I have to have experience in NJ or can it be in NY?
