I spoke to a rep now & have the following info:

1. If you have a valid NTS, you can go ahead & take the exam. But if you wanna apply for an NTS now, you have to get your transcripts evaluated first (they'll deny you an NTS). And like what others have said, they don't say anything about the scores. They have asked me to reply on the same email id (cpaexam@nasba.org) to find out

2. The new rule is for all candidates who are registered now. It doesn't matter whether you registered before Oct 24th or not

3. In case you have a valid NTS & are taking your last section, you can definitely take the exam but you can not get a license till you complete this process

4. Candidates are advised to start with the process immediately (even for those who have a valid NTS now) so that by the time you are ready to apply for a new NTS for the next exam, your transcripts would hopefully be evaluated & you would be done with this process. This would not affect your existing NTS/exams

Regarding evaluation process, i do not know much right now, except for the fact that it takes around 6-8 weeks. Once i am done with my REG exam on 6th, i am starting the process & hoping to get this done before i can schedule for my last section in Apr 2010.

Hi CPA0123,

Once u start your process just let me know the agency that u chose and what they charged u. I plan to start with my process too. I have certificates from India, do let me know what documentation you had to send.

Deepa.

Hi Bicm

Please keep everybody informed about the agency you select for credit evaluation. I am a B.com from Univeristy of Mumbai in 1999 with first class and Chartered Accountant. I have passed FAR, BEC and REG. My Audit is pending and have NTS for 24 Feb 2010. Can i go ahead and give the exam and satisfy requirements regarding the educational evaluation later?
