I'm done with this Wiley book. i used Wiley for both Reg and BEC and did well, but i'm finding the book doesn't explain anything for FAR, it's horrible. Anyone have any suggesstions for study materials.

I'm using the Wiley book and been studying for approximately a week now. I've completed the first 3 modules (7-9) and found overall that the book is very detailed, (which is good) but weak in some areas in terms of being detailed. However, it all depends on your background in being already familiar with the material. There are some areas in which I have no background at all and, of course, they are the areas that I happend to take it slow.

What I suggest is to know the journal entries and how it would be presented on the financial statements. That would drill down on your understanding of the material. But again, it depends on your background.

I used wiley before and its very good in FAR,
but don't study by wiley order,
take it that way:
1-Fixed Assets
2-Inventory
3-Monetary
4-Present Value
5-Cash Flow
6-Basic Theory
7-Investments
8-Stock Holders'
9-Consolidation
10-Hedging
11-Deferred Taxes
12-Mics
13-Not For Profit
14-Governmental

this way you will get used to the material easy by taking the easy modules first and you will get the background you will need to get the first module easy

give it a try, and Good Luck

I am actually starting with Governmental and non-profit since I am weakest on those. I have been reading Wiley's chapters and to tell you the truth, I can't remember a single thing about it. For some reason it is really dry. Is starting with Governmental a big mistake?

Yeah bc it is is memorizaton.  Wait to the end.  You should study alot for that topic bc you know it is going 2 be tested.  The other stuff If you do not understand it you can take your chances bc of the possibility of that topic not even being tested.  However, try to know everything.
