allegro why do you say, stay away from all those states? Just Curious..I'm with GA but will have to transfer to one of the states you mentioned because I live there..

Idont know anything about GA.  I know NY and some of these other states you have to have audit experience., which I dont have.  Depends on your situation

Maine requires 2 years of public accounting experience with 150 credit hours and NH requires one year of PA experience under the 150 credit hour rule.

Maine might be the easiest when it comes to the educational requirement but is definitely one of the hardest in terms of work experience.

If you want to simply write and pass the exam and you don't have any accounting credits, then Maine is your only option.  However, as mentioned above, you would not get your CPA designation from Maine until you meet their educational requirements of 150, plus specific accounting courses including audit and ethics, plus the 2 years of public accounting work experience.
