Hi every one, hope you doing fine. I really need your help and support. I just learned about the new changes that will be apply to the CPA exam starting 1/1/2011. becoming a CPA is a dream, goal, and much more to me. I took the four parts before during 2003 and 2005 and I got AUD 76 (expired) REG 83 (expired) BEC 81 (expired) FAR 57,64,70 and that was my last chance, then all the passed parts expired. I took unintentional long break since 2005. and I just started to regroup my self and prepare again to take the exam and plan to call Becker to order the four parts because I used becker before and I like their materials. but after I learned about the 2011 new Exam changes I don't know what to do. can I do it from now to 11/30/2010? what part should I start with? should I buy the four parts 2010 material from becker again? or buy one by one?
please, any advise will help,,,,,, thanks.

It's still possible to prepare for and take - and pass - all four parts before the end of 2010.  You can do it if you schedule one for the end of May, one for the end of July, one for the beginning of October, and the last one for the end of November.

BUT... given the trouble you had passing FAR, concentrate on that part first.  Don't fork out the money on a review course or a NTS for any of the other 3 sections until you are ready to take FAR.  Once you take FAR, while you are waiting for the score to be released, immediately start studying for the one section that was next-hardest for you.

And with 3 failed attempts using Becker, you really should try different review course for FAR.  You could use Yaeger for FAR, and then decide if you want to use Yaeger for the other sections as well.

Thank you so much Nan, for your advises, It's really very helpful. but am not sure about changing form Becker to other source will help, I mean like you see all I have is 7 month. Is it enough to prepare and focus for the exams plus adjusting to a different review course?

Becker didn't work for you for FAR and you already tried it 3 times.  What was the word someone defined as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result"?  You only have 7 months.  Can you afford to NOT try something different?

Go with Yaeger for FAR.  If you like Yaeger, consider sticking with it for the other 3 sections.

Mony,

Nan makes a good point about "if you always do, what you always did, you'll continue to get the same results". And starting with FAR since it was your Achilles heel would be a confidence builder once it's behind you.

There is an online resource that you might want to consider in addition to a review course - CPAReviewforfree.com. This is a site offered by Joe Hoyle based on his live courses. I've used it to supplement my paid review courses with great success.  It offers over 2000 multiple choice questions - and you can choose to do overall review or drill down to work on specific areas. You will be able to start working on it as soon as you register for a username and password - so you can get started before paid review courses arrive.

In addition, there is a facebook page and an e-mail option. I find that Joe's motivational e-mails seem to arrive just when I most need them.

As for timing before 2011 - my gut feel is, if you want it enough - you can do it. And having the 2011 change deadline as a motivator is a strong one.
