I just rec'd my Audit score in the mail and attached to it, has a form that says that to obtain licensure in Florida, you must score 80% (20 out of 25) on the Florida Laws and Rules Exam.

I have been looking on-line to see if this is still a requirement, as well to know what's the best way to prepare for this?

How many hrs prep. we need to set aside? the structure/duration of the exam?

If anyone know, please let me know.

Thanks.

NASBA is giving you old information.  You no longer have to pass a rules exam to get your license in Florida.

Cool. It's probably because of the work experience requirement.

Yeah, at a recent FICPA meeting they said that they were able to negotiate getting rid of the Florida ethics exam. However, the paper does say they need proof of 1 year of work experience. In what form do they want this proof? I guess it will all be explained in the licenses kit, I just wanna receive it already!

Go to the Board of Accountancy website, AKA Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Print out the work experience form, give it to the CPA who can verify your experience, and then send it in with your application package.

Ugh, I was hoping you wouldn't say that. That means I have to go back to my old public accounting job and ask the partner to sign. We were on good terms and it shouldn't be a problem but I was hoping to avoid that.
