You're welcome :-)
I am almost, almost, licensed, knock on wood. I did the
application with the Virginia board a few weeks ago, requested all my
transcripts and had a colleague verify work experience. Getting
the grades transferred has been a royal pain. I emailed the NH
NASBA coordinator... no response. Called her (as it turns out,
there was a problem with my email... she's usually good about getting
back to me), and was told to email the VA NASBA coordinator.
Emailed her, and she told me to contact the VA board. Called
them, and they told me to try the NH board. Called them, and
finally got some satisfaction. Should it really be that hard?

Hi dcgrrrl,
I'm still working on my exams.....But, i was just curious to know...
What is the requirement of the NH state regarding certificate once I
pass all the 4 exams? Is it the same procedure ...taking the ethics
exams and then the experience?
I'm assuming certification is different from the license. So, in that
case, what is the procedure under the NH State for the certification?
What are the steps?
If you know of any link/ site where I can find information pertaining to this, it would be of a great help.
Thanks and regards.

The NH board website is at http://www.state.nh.us/accountancy. They should have all the information you need.
Some states give you a certificate after you pass, and a license after
you complete their experience requirement - these are called "two-tier"
states. NH is NOT a two-tier state - you don't get a certificate
or anything for passing the exam. The NH experience requirement
is 2 years in public accounting; certain types of governmental work
count as well. From what I can tell, there's no ethics exam
requirement.
For me, it wasn't worthwhile to get licensed in NH, since 1 - I don't
work there, 2 - it's $225, and 3 - many states don't grant reciprocity
to NH licensed CPAs anyway. If you're in the US, get a license in
the state in which you work. If you just want a certificate to
put on your resume, after you pass the exam you could transfer your
grades to IL or DE (before the requirement changes).

Hi Dcgrrrl,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I had a few other questions,
1. Would it be a wise decision to wait till I pass all the 4 sections
and then transfer my grades to any of these States? - (This is what I
was planning to do since I have 2 more exams on my way).
2. Would I have to fulfill the educational requirements of the State to which I transfer my credit all over again?
3. Is there any time limit for taking the ethics exam? Does it fall under the 18 month period?
4. Can I transfer my credits to say IL and then take up the ethics exam?
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks and Regards.
