Ahmadca, how long did you study for each one of the sections that you sat for and passed. I'm sitting for FAR at the end of February. I couldn't study during the holiday, so plan to begin in January, I'm worried that that's not enough time.

Hi Everyone,

I passed all parts of the exam in Nov 05. I am not a resident of US. Is there any way I can become a "CPA" as there are work experience requirements. I am enrolled in NH.

Hi SUBU,

Even though you've passed the CBT, you still have to meet the experience requirement. You mentioned that you are not a US resident. If you have a work permit, and can gain the experience in public accounting or in private industry you can meet this requirment. I know of a few ex-peers, who are here in the US on student visas, but was able to find companies, who sponsored B-1 Visas for them. They worked in internal audit, and are currently working on the CPA exam.

Subu, there are a few states that will grant a CPA certificate (allowing you to use the CPA title in limited circumstances).  Check licensing info on www.nasba.org and consult individual state board for clarification.

CPAlife, the NY board website is http://www.op.nysed.gov/cpa.htm - NY license info should be there.
