Hi dcgrrrl,

Even I am in the same situation as mans22. After passing CPA exams I am planning to transfer grades from Colorado to Texas.

If we need to practice then we need to fulfill experience requirement only then can we practice?

I have visited a lot of relevant websites and this was what I could gather so someone please clarify.

smc1, you can BE an accountant, auditor, or tax preparer without a CPA certificate or license.  You cannot REPRESENT yourself as a Certified Public Accountant unless you hold a current certificate or license in the state in which you make the representation.

Hai, I need some help regarding getting the Missouri Certificate/License. I passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam. Inorder to get a License to practice in Missouri, we need to pass the ethics exam and have one year work experience. My question is: I do not want to be in public accounting for more than two years. I want to shift to private accounting either doing Internal audits/Tax accounting in a Listed company. Do I still need to write the ethics exam? Can anyone explain the difference between a Certificate and License? I did some research, but I could not get any clear information, if you know about any website where we can get answers to the above information please let me know.

Regarding the 150-unit requirement --> does anyone know if they accept repeat courses? I have 147 total units that I graduated with; 4 of those units were in one unit exercise classes (took it four times in two colleges). Would they count those three repeat units or would I have to take 6 additional units to apply for license (to equal a total 150 units)? I haven't received a response from the California Licensing Unit regarding this matter and was hoping someone here would know more than me.

mocpa05 - I think you need to take the Ethics exam no matter what state you're applying in. Read the previous posts in this thread for clarification on license/certificate.
