We went and spoke to the becker rep about what our expectations were, which was not to practice but just have something to frame.  Our becker rep took the reins from the start and handled all the admin stuff for us.  I do hold Becker, through their rep, accountable - there was an understanding that we would spare no corporate expense and she would take care of us.  There were a bunch of us so i think her commissions were pretty good from our lot.  I don't want to sound like an ass, but we told her straight up that we were foggy about the US accreditation process, we didn't have the time to dig, nor were we interested in doing so. This is what we want to accomplish, do the paperwork for us, just tell us where to sign.  We didn't have time, period, or else we would have just done the CMA, which is at least jurisdictionally relevant for us.  Having said that, I think we had good cause to place our reliance on her.  I'm just upset she took a short cut and put all of us in New Hampshire, I think to quickly meet the educational requirements of the most iffy candidate rather than assessing each of our transcripts individually.

If you want it done right, do it yourself.  Becker's expertise is in review courses, not licensure/certification.  When it comes to something so important to you, why would you let someone else do this for you?  It is your fault.

You sound like arrogant person.  You grew up with all daddy's money and everyone should bow down to you.  "Just tell us where to sign"....this is the dumbest statement I have ever heard.  It is up there.

It is your fault completely.  Becker doesn't care if you pass the test in any state, they just want your money for the review materials.    You don't have time to dig?  I can search for any state in google for the state board.

Example

Google: Texas state board of accountancy
or
Alabama state board of accountancy

ORRRR

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY

Then you can look at the educational requirements from there.

Are you not from the United States.  You type well, so I am assuming that you are and that just makes what you said a billions times more arrogant.  Hopefully you are from another country and do not understand North American communication.

To the other poster:

I am in Alabama, and we are a 2-tiered state.  This means that once I pass the CPA exam, I am a CPA.  I am legally eligible to put CPA behind my name.  After appropriate experience, I become licensed.  The license would only come into play when doing audits of public companies.  In Alabama, anyone can do taxes; the CPA is not a requirement, but I would think people would value you more.

Listen, i think you guys are trying to assume too much regarding my situation.  How do you get that i'm rich or entitled or whatever?  That's assuming waay too much on your part.  What do you know of the demands of my time?  There's only 24 hours a day, and my work was taking up 13+ hrs/ day not to mention a new born daughter that i never got to see during that time because of some new regulatory issues that were imposed on us to report on last minute and 2 key people leaving my group at the same time.

The becker lady was confident about the subject, telling us where we should go and all that jazz, so we asked if we could leave it in her hands.  For me, individually it would be easy to assess, i went to UofT got way more credits than necessary.  But alot of my colleagues had degrees 20, 30 years ago from like U of Gujarat, India...it's not so cut and dried then...i mean, you got a faded transcipt from an institution that likely will  take 5 years before records are found if they even exist anymore and copied to you.  I'm just a little guy and went with the flow.  There was a VP and an EVP taking it with us, it's just the way they operate...they don't do admin stuff.  It's not being an ass, they have more important things to do than that - like running a bank.
