AFAIK, PwC wants you to create a profile and apply online at the corporate website. How do you stand out in the database? There are probably millions of candidates in there.

The Big 4 are coming to my campus this Fall for an accounting career fair followed by campus interviews at later dates. Last year during the fair, I was referred to the head recruiters because my resume made the cut (brand name school, high GPA, 150 credit hours, finance background, planned to take CPA exam, etc.). They were all interested but I've never heard back from any of them after the event. How do you guys score your interviews? I don't have problem getting internship at the regional, 2nd tier PA but don't have any luck with the Big 4. Any advice? Thanks!

Just be normal and be yourself. Your resume says enough about technical potential. The last thing recruiters want to hear about is accounting, so don't be abrasive in that way. The interview itself and the networking events are all about showing you're the kind of person they'd want in the office and could see themselves working with.

All of the big 4 came to my school. I applied w/ all 4 and only got 1
interview. Fortunately, it turned into an offer. My advice is to attend
any school events where they are and express interest. Try to find out
their hiring needs (ie what positions in what locations). In my case, i
applied for a position in a specific office location based on what i
heard they needed. It worked. Be very specific about what position
you want and what location. Don't say "im open to different
locations/jobs, etc." They don't like that.

This has been helpful. Can someone give me the breakdown
(or direct me to a website) of the recruiting process?
Who comes to campus events and "meet the firms" night? Is
it recruiters for the firm, or managers of the firm? Are
they recruiting for their office or all offices in a
region? How do you get a job for an out of state office?
On the subject of being too open to what you want, what
about internships for tax or audit. I'm not sure which I
want to do so I'm applying for both. Is this a bad move?

2 years ago when I was coming out of school, I got no response from 3 of the big 4, and interviews with the 4th where some of my professors referred me in. Unfortunately, I was ultimately rejected. A couple months ago, a current employee referred me in, and I recently got an offer as an experienced hire.
