I'm in a similar situation. I passed the exam and had my
then-current employer send in the paper work that I had
worked my two years in May. They told me it was all
signed and sent to the PA Board of Accounting. A few
weeks later, I put in my 2 weeks and left for a big
promotion into corporate accounting.

Three months later, I still hadn't received my license
and my status online was pending. I called my board and
they said they were waiting on Verification of
Experience.

I called former employer who informed me that they never
sent it in even though they told me they had before.
That was in September. They said their computer system
was down and that they would send it in and send me a
copy ASAP. October rolled around and they claim their
network where past time entries are stored still hasn't
been accessible so they couldn't confirm my time worked.
It's now November and my last 2 e-mails have gone without
response.

Don't work for Maillie Falconiero & Co, LLP. They are a
bunch of douches.

Interpol - thank you!  I'm sure he's a decent person outside of work, however frustrating he may be to work with.  I have found in my experience (and by no means am I being inclusive of all), that small firms (less than ten people) tend to have egomaniacs at the helm, which makes working for them rather difficult.  Especially me being the younger, outspoken generation!

Fuhrman - that is horrible about your prior employer!  I feel that no matter what you/they did or when you left, that they have no right to withhold that information and prevent you from obtaining your license.  Do you have anyone you're friends with that works there that could print it off and give it to you?  I know the girl I use to work with at the other firm printed off my information for me so I had it.
