Hi temp cpa, I got an interview with the used/sales tax unit of E & Y in California.  The interview was in office and one-on-one.  Very informal.  He seemed very interested in having me join the team.  Besides mentioning that I am on the top half of his list, he even asked what I am making at my current job (the job posting indicated a lower salary than what I am currently making) and stated that he wont have a problem matching my current salary.

I should feel secured but I have not heard back from anyone so I am a bit nervous.  Thank you for offering your advice!

The Client Interview Competition, sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth, is the first competition in 2010. This competition is ideal for law students of any year, as it requires very little legal knowledge and very little preparation. The competition assesses the competitor’s communication skills and their ability to understand and meet their client’s needs.

In pairs, students, acting as solicitors interview a potential client who has found themselves on the wrong side of the law. The solicitors must ask the right questions of the client, and ascertain how the events unfolded. Once you have a clear picture of the factual situation, you can start to think about your client’s next move!
