Hi,
I'm also a CA from India and recently started preparing for Jan-Feb window. What I have gathered from all experienced people is that it is quite easy for Indian CAs. All my CA friends who are in US have cleared in the first attempt with good scores.
What i have felt is, it is very theoritical. You might have done your CA with the old syllabus. In that case, only Audit, Law and SADP were mainly theoritical. rest all was full of practical questions. Here preparation for MCQ's requires reading theory for pages and pages. I did my CA in May 2002; at that time there were hardly 20 AS and 25 SAP. But here Audit and Accounts are full of pronouncements. So my experience, we need to very much determined as the subject matter is not interesting. This will only make us stick to the books.
Right now, I'm studying from Wiley.
Good luck with your studies.
