Hello,
I applied for a job posting on the career website. Last week, the HR status changed to Initial Interest. I never got a call.
What does that status mean?

Sometimes it takes quite a bit longer depending on the
position and locations. What position is this and what
area?

Thank you for responding. It is an Associate position in New York, NY.
Earlier in this post, KoolDown said that he/she received a call before HR Status changed to Initial Interest.
I guess process varies for each position. And, Can you please elaborate what does that status mean?

Usually it means they're going to contact you sometime, I
am suprised you haven't heard anything but it could be also
because its New York and its such a big job market. It also
might depend on the season and the specific needs of the
firm at the time. Sometimes positions don't need to be
filled right away... What was the position specifically in
audit, advisory, Tax?

I think you are right. NY has huge job market and large number candidates applying for the positions. And, may be there is no urgent need.
It is in Advisory. I can tell you specifics of the position, if you could drop me an email at badboyguda@gmail.com. I am scared about discussing about the position in public forums.
Did you face similar kind of situation before?
Again, Thank you for your response.
