I knew it! I guessed that you work as an auditor. I hate it too so I can totally understand. I think they make us do auditing in hell. Internal auditing for serial killers and pedophiles. You won't be the first nor the last person to change careers because you started at auditing.

There are so many other areas related to accounting that you could do that you might not hate so much. For example, you meet one-on-one with the client for individual taxes. Or you could work at a business management CPA office for high income individuals. There are also entertainment industry accountants who estimate budgets for movies. Accounting is so much more than auditing. Sounds like you're ready for change, and you're lucky that you're still young enough to change careers or positions, but don't quit unless you have another job lined up.
