...how someone like myself with 3 years of public accounting experience at a relatively large firm, a CPA, and 4 years of accounting experience total is not worthy of even an initial recruiter interview from a Big 4 for either an Assurance Senior (2+ years of experience) or Experienced hire (1+ years of experience)?????

PwC has me as "Not Selected" for a couple of positions.

At Ernst, I'm still active but applied almost 2 weeks ago and still no response.

KPMG, nothing.

Deloitte, nothing.

Considering the quality of other's resumes I've seen throughout my career, I would find it pretty difficult to believe that mine was bad enough to warrant no interest.

My question is, do Big 4 recruiters (and Partners/Managers for that matter) have that low of regard for experience from non top 100 firms?  I work at a boutique firm that has bigger clients than the top 20 firm that is our primary competition.

Do I need to convey the size and scope of my client load on my resume?  Seems ridiculous...

I don't think the size of your firm matters. My firm had
only 9 people, yet I got the call from recruiter, yet I
got an interview with managers and partners, then I got
the offer from big 4. Have someone else look on your
resume to give you some feedback. Good luck!
