Debbie - I find out about my last part tomorrow. I can tell you that I
found the classes most relevant to the CPA were:

* Macroeconomics & BLaw
* Intermediate Acctg I & 2
(my audit class was lame - I found the prep course much better)
* Advanced Acctg
* Individual Fed Tax, Corporate Tax, Advanced Corporate Tax, Taxation of
Pass-Thru Entitites, Estate Tax
* Cost Accounting

I didn't take AIS but I spent 10 years in consulting working with financial
systems, so all of the aspects of systems development, risk management,
etc. I was very comfortable with.

There was a lot of tax in Reg, and I think it would be tough without grad
work in tax. You need far more than just personal and corporate I.

The prep classes are necessary regardless. I liked Roger much better than
Becker, and found it more focused.

Good luck!

Greetings Everyone,

I passed all four parts of the exam. However, I do not
yet have the work experience required by the CA board to
be licensed. I start working at a CPA firm next week but
I know that I need 1 or 2 years experience (depending on
the pathway) before I can get the license. I have a few
questions to ask so here goes...

After passing all four parts (within 18 months) do I have
a time limit before the credits expire?

Do I apply for licensure now or should I wait until I get
the experience?

What about the Ethics Exam? Now or wait?

I got my last result a while back but I have really been
slacking but finally found a job and now reality hit and
I'm starting to get nervous about loosing credits. What
do you guys know about this?

Finally, I'm pretty sure that I can work under an active
CPA outside the US to gain the required attestation hours
but I'm not positive...Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks Everyone!!!

i was wondering the same questions as you, was there an answer posted that I missed?

1.)After passing all four parts (within 18 months) do I have
a time limit before the credits expire?

2.)Do I apply for licensure now or should I wait until I get
the experience?

if someone can please clarify, thanks!

Hi Colors,

There is no time limit after you pass your four exams. In my situation, I have passed all four exams, but have not applied for the license. I'll do it as soon as I meet my work experiance requirements. By the way, as for the ethics exam, since it has an expiration period, when I come closer to meeting my work experiance requirement (about 6 months before) I'll take ethics test. In order to apply for the license you need to have all of these:

CPA uniform exams

Works experiance

Ethics

Hope this helps.
