I was an economics major (arts & sciences - theoretical economics) and I
worked for PwC. If you have the credit hours to sit for the CPA that's what
they'll be looking for. All of the Big 4 expect you to be CPA-eligible.
I wound up switching to accounting after I left PwC (I was in management
consulting). I did earn my MBA but in Marketing, and then later got my
MSAT. Now I'm an instructor in accounting & marketing at a major
university. I've thought about going back to PwC as an auditor but I like
having summers off to spend with my kids and I don't want to start at the
bottom of the food chain.
If you're going to pick up credit hours at another university, why not just
double-major now?
