May be they haven't yet posted the score......but I am pretty sure that you have to sit for the exam on or before the 18 month deadline date and that should be your passing attempt... since you passed you should not lose your credit...

May be it will take couple of days  to update the score to your account....

Congratulations CPA2011

No need to freak out..you r good..Since you sat for exam before your FAR expired and passed you dont lose the credit.....

Now time for some advice please...,

I am planning to sit for Reg at the end of Jan 2012 and I am using Becker for now, doing Mcqs for 2nd time and havent touched the sims yet......Can you please share your experience as how to tackle this exam and pass as this is my last part and i want to get it done with it and have my life back already.......

Thank you and good luck in your career

Thanks, momcpa.

Do you know if it is state-dependent? Why would NASBA website indicate I lost credit if I hadn't?

As far as suggestions on REG, I failed the exam twice before finally passing it today, so I recognize the difficulty other people might have with it as well. Last time around, I made sure that I didn't leave anything to chance heading for the exam. Actually, I finished it with so much time to spare that I was genuinely bored towards the end. I didn't even bother to utilize the IRC for simulations because I was confident I pulled at least 80 percent. This is compared to my first two attempts when I completely ran out of time and left at least 2 simulations undone.

The difference this time was my approach to studying. I made sure I knew the stuff in depth not just be familiar with it. I used only Becker. Here are my suggestions.

  • Go over AICPA released questions. I felt the real exam was awfully close to these old questions. You may or may not see couple of repeats as well.
  • Some Becker Ancilliary material is heavily tested on the exam despite their light emphasis on Becker. As a matter of fact, Becker does not even have video lectures for some of them although the text is more than adequate. For example, without violating the non-disclosure policy, there are more questions on Becker's R4 ancillary material than the entire 3 business law chapters combined. I don't know why that is.
  • Practice, practice, practice. I have critized Becker quite a bit in the past, but I think they really do cover most everything you need, just not in great detail.
  • About the sims> Important but I don't have a good advice on them. I did 1 sim last time and none in my previous attempts. Also, I have never done any sims for other 3 sections either. Somehow, I felt basic familiarity with the software was useful, but ultimately, if you knew the content, you will do just fine.

Good luck.

hi cpa2011

Thanks for your valuable advice and i am sorry for asking advice when you were in a panic situation.......

which state board are you from?? This is what west virginia board says:

  1. A candidate shall be deemed to have passed the Uniform CPA Examination once the candidate holds at the same time valid credit for passing each of the four test sections of the examination. Credit for passing a test section of the examination is valid from the actual date of the testing event for that test section, regardless of the date the candidate actually receives notice of the passing grade.

Did you get to call your  state board to confirm.... somehow I strongly feel that it's all the new changes with these online scores and thing.....

I hope and pray that you do not have to lose your Far credit...

cpa 2011

this is from NASBA website

My conditional credit expires soon. What is the last day I can sit without losing credit?

You have until the end of testing on the day your credit expires. Remember, when scheduling your examination, some testing centers are not open on weekends or holidays. For some jurisdictions, the expiration date for conditional credit may fall in a non-testing month.

Examination content changes do not affect conditional credit. If you passed a section prior to January 1, 2011, and have valid credit, you will not have to retake that section unless the credit expires before you pass all four sections.

hope this helps and now i am sure you should not lose your credit...please let us know..

momcpa,

Thanks a lot for looking into this. I called NASBA earlier today and they confirmed that I DO have credit. They said it was a system glitch and it's now fixed.
