I am also waiting on a Big4 office to extend an offer after several months. It is an office expansion, and they are waiting for national office approval to continue hiring. It's frustrating, but I am currently working in a local firm, so it's not like I am unemployed.

I am told that I am "top of the list" each time I communicate with the ED, so that is always encouraging, but I hate waiting. Bleh.

There is definitely such a thing as a hiring freeze in the
Big 4 in particular offices/groups.

It might mean you're on their backup list and they're waiting to see if their first picks are signing with them. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh. Then again, there very well may be a hiring freeze.
