Hello all. I've been working with a Big four firm for the
last 2 months and I feel like I'm struggling a lot. I miss
details, miss deadlines, and I feel my work quality is not
as high as they expect. For those in public accounting, how
did you feel the first year? What would you recommend?

Get a couple of extra-strength magnifying glasses on eBay.  Keep one at your desk, one in your bag, one in the car etc and use 'em!

Lower the screen resolution on your computer so everything looks bigger.

Zoom in more on .pdf files.

Set the default zoom on Word and Excel to 130-140%.

The thing here is to save your eyes so they will last through the long hours.  Learning how to look at stuff quicker takes practice and eventually you'll learn exactly what to look for on invoices, checks, etc. and your eyes will hone right in faster.
