Hello all,

I just received my last section score today and finally
passed all sections of CPA exams. I am a TX candidate.
So, any suggestions on what I should do now while waiting
for the big yellow envelope from the TX Board? I know, I
will have to complete exam on TX Rules of Prof. Conduct,
complete Application for License, and fill in the work
experience forms, etc. But one thing I am not that clear
is the 4-hour ethics course: is this course required only
for obtaining a license or is it part of the continuing
professional education (CPE) hours to maintain the CPA
certificate?

I just wanna know the procedures in advance, cos I guess
there is still a long time before the envelope comes. So
if anyone knows how to deal with that, just let me know.
I appreciate it a lot!

Thanks

Hi & Congrats on passing the exams!! I recently passed all four exams after a three year period! I am sooooo glad to be done.

I just sent it my licensure paperwork and hope that I got at least an 85% on the Rules of Professional Conduct Exam! You must pass it in order to move forward in the licensing process.

You may start getting the work experience form, the 4-hour ethics course, and the oath of office out of the way. Go to the TSBPA website, and under forms, print out the oath of office and work experience forms. The oath must be notarized and the work experience form must be signed off on by a CPA-supervisor. It is good to get this done before you get the yellow envelope in the mail.

For the ethics course, I used Western CPE. It was easy and took me no time to complete the exam and retrieve my certificate. I returned this certificate with my license application as per the instructions.

Take care...Jacob

Thank you, Jacob. Hope you can be certified the license
very soon!
BTW, is there any suggestions on choosing the ethics
course? I did not see the course format under Western CPE,
is it Internet Interactive?
Best luck, Julia

Julia-

Follow this link:

http://www.westerncpe.com/login/login.cfm?flash=Y&

I took course# 4110542, Version 1103, Ethics for Texas--the state board has approved that course.

You will need to create an account and go from there.

Hey Jacob, thanks again. I have followed the links as you
told me. One more question: do I have to complete this
course within 6 months before submitting the application
for license? Since I have no related experience, if that's
the case, I may take the ethics course later.

BTW, don't worry about your Rules of Professional Conduct
Exam. You should be fine with that. Lots of people pass it
once, although I have't taken it yet..

Good luck
