I have an offer from a national top 25 cpa firm. Is it better to wait for an offer from a Big 4 in terms of career advancement and future opportunities? I like the company and the role. Some other recruiters have told me companies like to see big 4 experience hiring down the line (example hedge funds etc)

How much weight does a big 4 hold and will having a well known top 25 type firm still look good?

Big 4 holds more weight than a national top 25 firm. But,
you would also have to look at what you plan on doing after
public accounting. Also, when you say wait for an offer.
How long would you have to wait? Did you already have your
interviews and are just waiting for Big 4 to get back to
you? If so, it's okay to ask the national cpa firm to see
if they can give you more time in making your decision.
Just say that you had interviews with other firms and would
like to give them a chance to get back to you. Then you can
make that decision.

1. take top 25 offer

2. keep in touch with buddies who've gone to Big 4

3. After two years of working at said firm and keeping in touch w/said
buddies, contact them and ask for a referall.

4. Get an interview, get an offer for a Staff 2 position (not senior..sorry)

5. Profit

6. buy bling and get decked out like whoa....nitro, might flow, nice
clothes like WHOA!
