I don't know for sure... but many areas of NC are growing rapidly.  Added is the fact that the demand for accountants is soaring, and I'd say you've got yourself some pretty good job prospects.

Billions of dollars are spent on gift cards every year and consumers lose up to 10 percent of the value of the cards as a result of expiration dates or service fees. With the rapid growth in gift card sales in recent years, state legislators have begun to tackle expiration dates and service fees on the cards. At the beginning of 2007, 22 states prohibited expiration dates altogether or within a certain time frame and 21 states prohibited post-sale fees altogether or within a certain time frame.

why NC?

It may be because in addition to having personal reasons, NC is one of the top 10 industrialized states in the union, and there are loads of opportunities there.  Mine would be (if I could move there) is that it has some of the best and most varied scenery in the country.

Thank You I needed that! While viewing this thread I was thinking, "I could really use a fun fact on gift cards". The fact that you referenced your link to this exact thread is also a nice touch. LOL WTF? I apologize for hijacking.

Areas you should look at in NC:

Charlotte, Raleigh (includes Durham and Chapel Hill), Greensboro-Winston Salem in that order.  There are more jobs in Charlotte and Raleigh.
