I got my MST from the University of Denver, it's an outstanding program and if you have the flexibility to move to Denver for a year I would highly recommend it.

I don't know much about Northridge's program, my friend goes to Fullerton's program and he really likes it and it's a very comprehensive program. I would imagine that Northridge also has a good program, seeing as it's based in LA so it has access to some great talent. I know Northridge has a solid undergrad accounting program so the MST program should be decent.

That's the big problem with the Cal Poly program; SLO is out in the middle of nowhere so I have no idea where they are going to get good talent from.

Thanks for reply. I was kind of struglling find someone who has MBT and CPA in this forum. Someone metioned in this forum that the U of D and Golden Gate has decent and solid reputation on MBT progrom in the West Coast. By the way, Are you recently working in the public accounting ? if yes, for how many years? and did the MBT really benefit in your career? I also wondering if you had B.A. in the undergraduate?

thanks

DU and Golden Gate are two excellent programs. If I had to give one of them the edge I'd give it to DU (and I'm not just saying that because I'm an alumnus there) only because I think that DU has a good national reputation while Golden Gate is only really well-known in the Bay Area/California.

I do work in public accounting, getting the MST degree from DU was the best thing I ever did for myself. I a much more technically proficient than the people I started with and because of that I have gotten on some really big and interesting projects (and I'm not being conceited it's the truth).

auger3,

How much work do you have to do in the MST program? Is it mostly research and papers? Im looking to finish in a year when I enter a program.

Why not just become an Enrolled Agent? That proves that you know something about tax vs having a masters, which doesn't really mean a whole lot unless you can demonstrate your knowledge.
