I just started studying FAR with the Becker self-study - just finishing F-1, so I am not an expert yet. For BEC and AUD I mostly used Gleim online. I am also six years out of school.
Having said that, so far my impression is that if you are scoring less than 80% on the homework then you are not retaining the material sufficiently. Perhaps reviewing the material again after listening to a section of the lecture is necessary before you attempt the homework the first time. I would make sure to review to the point where you will score at least 80% the first time you do the homework. Also, I find it helpfull to read through the book before listening to the lecture.
This is my strategy. I would be very concerned if I studied sections and consistantly scored 60% even if I re-did the homework and got a better score the second time around. If I am wrong on this, hopefully someone will correct me as I might be wasting too much time studying. It took me about a week to get through the first of the nine lectures.
I would be interested to here more about other candidates strategies with Becker. It is surprising to hear about so many failing the exam using Becker.
