[QUOTE=vvs_cpa] [QUOTE=justfurfun] [QUOTE=vvs_cpa]

My analysis says "comparable" in presentation, and sims- communication BUT "weaker" in mcq's. I got 70.

I think one must be strong in mcq's (70% of entire exam) and at least comparable in one sims and comm or presentation.  Botton line I have decided to practice 1 1/2 hour at day of mcq's until the day of my exam. I plan writing end of April, beg of May or when I score low 70's in Becker exam whichever is earlier :).. I am hitting hard leases, bonds, pension, stockholders equity, consolidation and F2.

I am going to pass this time baby  :)

Good luck reeeeee-takers !!

It really depends on a lot of factors: how much money do you have to spend, how much time do you have to study, what studying have you already done, do you prefer the bare minimum of coverage to focus your studies or do you want in depth coverage so that you perform well no matter what surprise question arises, also what type of learner are you - are you better reading a book or listening/watching someone as you go over a book.

For BEC, I pretty much used the Bisk book (a little of the Wiley book) and the Bisk software.  For REG, I used the Bisk book and Bisk software.  For AUD, I used the Becker book and Wiley software.  For FAR, I used the Wiley book only.

Seriously, sims play a pivotal role in your score, specifically the communications tab. Thanks to all in this forum for providing the tips on how to attempt the sims !

I am going through my final review right now. And, I agree with justfurfun that it's better to do the communications and research tabs first. These tabs take lot of time and the biggest obstacles in sims ! Once you are through with these tabs, it won't be a tough job to do the other tabs if you have practiced your mcqs well and know the key points.

Good Luck to all appearing in April/May exam window.

Give your best shot :)

I am going through my final review right now. And, practicing the sims for first time. I realized that most of my concepts I was struggling on got cleared through sims - like consolidations (purchase method). All those elimination entries (CARIMAG) are now so much clearer !

One additional note about the research tab - I usually take a shot at it right after the written communication, but you have to always remember about time management.  If you can't get the research question within a few minutes and you have no clue about where to start looking (like my first one on FAR - I had Absolutely No Idea), you have to move on to the rest of the Sim tabs and let the research question go.  In my case, I went through and did the Sim tabs, then went back, still had no clue, and so I just moved on to the 2nd Sim.

If you can get the research questions, that is great because it could single-handedly push you up from a 73 or 74 to a 75; but, you don't want to blow your whole 2nd Sim by spending too much time on the research question, and possibly missing easy points on the 2nd Sim.  My 2nd Sim research question was MUCH easier to find then the first one.
