After watching the lecture I'm making a condensed outline of the things that were highlighted, all pass keys, and all mnemonics. I'm about done with A1 and I have 11 pages of typed notes. It's unlikely that's I'll return to the book for any information in this chapter. My plan is to have detailed enough notes that I can review the chapter with about 15 pages of notes as opposed to reading the 56 pages of the chapter.

It's been a pain in the ass but I'm hoping it helps me retain the information better and makes it easier to review.

ETA: If you don't want to make your own notes, there are a few links in this thread for other member's notes:

Thanks this help a lot KmirgAZ... it seems that I am lazy but it is not I am just traumatized and I starting to doubt in my habilities (of doing anything - including taking notes) after failing FAR two times in a row.

I will still make small flash cards of mnemonics to stuff my brain while in the subway!!

Good luck!

Very comforting to hear someone you don't even know tell you "Dont get down on yourself! You can do this"

Hello Everyone,

I just took FAR next week and I am now starting AUD.  I have started going through AUD 1 in Becker and I can already see how this section will be very different to study for than FAR.  In FAR you could use T accounts and formulas to remember alot of things but this seems to be much more complex.  Does anyone have any advice on a different study plan than FAR?

I feel the same way you do.  I knew going into it that AUD would be much harder for me than FAR, and really hate the fact that my review class schedule isn't going to allow me more time to study for it.  Not only is the material harder for me, but the lectures are way more boring.  The FAR lectures I could at least most stay awake and were somewhat interesting.  AUD is just so blah!

I had no work to do this morning at work so I did the homework Qs for the lectures I watched last night in A1 and it confirmed that audit is a much weaker area for me.  With FAR, I would usually score in the 70% to 80% range when I did the homework initially.  With AUD, it's more like 50 to 60%.  It just means I have to work that much harder!
